The Leinster coast, that of Wexford in particular, is the main point of arrival of migrants from Great Britain and from Europe, whence they spread over the country, often along the courses of the rivers of the south-east. In autumn, vast immigrations take place of many
species, such as Song-Thrushes, Blackbirds, Redwings, Starlings, Sky-Larks, Meadow- Pipits, and Chaffinches. The only Irish Reptile, the Viviparous Lizard and two of the three Irish Amphi- bians, namely the Common Frog and the Common Newt occur, and are all frequent.
